1 January 2015. We go on a little road trip to the mainland of Vällinge. We want to check what the ice situation is there. A weekend on the island with sauna etc would be nice. If we’re lucky the ice in the home harbour should be manageable in a couple of days.
We encounter the usual devastation caused by the beavers. Soon there will be no trees left and no protection from Southerly winds on the island.
There is absolutely no ice in that part of Mälaren. We keep our fingers crossed and will examine the ice in the home harbour tomorrow.
