We leave Sandhamn in a hurry. Friends alert us to the ice situation at home. We make a stop to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Saltsjöbaden. Fenders seemed superfluous, I think we were expecting a crowd here. 🙂 The fireworks at night were amazing.

We plan to spend New Year’s Eve here. It was great fun last year: fireworks, live band at Seglarhotellet, etc. The weather forecast is worrying though, we may have to move on to home harbor in a couple of days. The ice is beginning to set in the lake and may stop us from getting in. But for now we take long walks in Sandhamn and enjoy the off-season stillness.

Snow at last. We’re celebrating Hasse’s birthday in unsurpassable surroundings. Wind and snow in the evening, brilliant sunshine during the day. Access to sauna enhances our stay on the island.

Managing to get all Ewa’s children into one spot. Dinner and games, the usual Christmas procedure.

Leaving Stockholm in full sunshine. Son and daughter-in-law visiting. It is their first winter sailing and they are applying the skills they acquired last summer.
